Some Summer Fun

Summer is a time to chill and relax, enjoy vacations, and be thankful for the blessings of family and friends. I hope you're enjoying your summer!

While you're relaxing, here are a few conversation starters to get the festivities going...

Summer Confessions (not to be taken too seriously)

The first big hurricane of the season came early this year. It makes you appreciate all those meteorologists who track the weather for us. Being a storm chaser is harder than it looks. I tried to catch some fog, but I mist.

The sun is hot this time of year, and warm weather always adds to the debate about whether global warming is caused by CO2 or sunspots. I stayed up all night thinking about the sun…, and then it dawned on me.

Nature is fascinating. I’m reading a book on antigravity. I can’t put it down.

At this time of year, it’s important to keep your car in good shape. People say I worry about my brakes too much, but I’m not really addicted to constantly changing my brake fluid. I can stop at any time.

We just finished the school year. The local grammar school produced a clever show on puns. It was a play on words.

It’s also important to take care of yourself physically in the summer. I went for my annual checkup, and the records showed my blood type as Type A, but it was a typ-O.

It seems like police activity increases in the summer too. I read that the energizer bunny was detained by police for throwing rocks. He was arrested on basalt and battery charges.

You have to keep a sense of humor in the summertime, but I’ll admit some corny dad jokes can be pretty bad. German sausage jokes are the wurst.

God understands our need for rest from time to time.

There were many coming and going, and they had no time even to eat. So He [Jesus] said to them, “Come away by yourselves to an isolated place and rest awhile.” ~ Mark 6:31

Enjoy some recharging time!
